The first Pageant was in celebration of the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977.

It was a modest affair organised by Bromley Council and with about 150 cars in attendance. It was so popular the council repeated the show for the next 3 years. However the council were wary about spending so much of the taxpayers' money so they handed the show over in 1981 to a company called Expan.

That same year Practical Classics (published then by PPG) got behind the event and boosted the cars exhibiting to 500. Expan went into liquidation and the Practical Classics team offered to take the show on board. Since then the show has gone from strength to strength. We now have over 3,000 exhibitors attending each year and 30,000 plus spectators!!

Kelsey Publishing continued to run the show after Practical Classics changed hands. The show was purchased by Live Promotions Events in late 2003 and sits very well into our portfolio of mainly outdoor automotive events. Live Promotions already run many hugely successful events including Truckfest, Donny and Land Rover shows.

Live Promotions are still looking to grow the event and attract more cars, more displays and more trade and auto jumble stands, as well as celebrity guests and new featured areas. We are looking forward to another exciting show in 2010 with spectacular stand displays, classic and vintage cars, classic motorcycles, commercial vehicles, military vehicles, arena shows, and much more!
